Opening Ceremony

LA Coliseum

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will host the Opening Ceremony on July 24, 2015. A classic and iconic sports venue, the Coliseum is the only facility in the world to have hosted two Olympic Games (1932, 1984), the Super Bowl, a Baseball World Series and, of course, the 1972 Special Olympics World Summer Games.

University of California, Los Angeles


University of California, Los Angeles is a public institution that was founded in 1919. The 419 acre picturesque campus is located in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, just 10 miles from downtown and five miles from the beaches of Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean. Home to nearly 40,000 students, Olympic Village at UCLA will include first class university housing, food and entertainment facilities.


University of Southern California

USC Doheny Library

University of Southern California is a private institution that was founded in 1880. Its central campus, referred to as the University Park campus, is located in Los Angeles’s Downtown Arts and Education Corridor. The beautiful campus will provide excellent housing, food, and entertainment facilities for the World Games participants. USC has the distinction of having the most diverse international student population of any university in the United States.
